What is high cholesterol (hypercholesterolemia)?
Hypercholesterolemia is a condition characterized by abnormally high levels of cholesterol in the blood. While the body needs cholesterol to function properly, an excess amount may accumulate over time and subsequently affect blood flow and cardiovascular function.
