What is non-ST elevation myocardial infarction?

Non-ST-Elevation Myocardial Infarction (NSTEMI) is a type of heart attack which is detected by elevation of cardiac markers in specific blood tests. NSTEMI is name that replaces previous names of Transmural Infarction and non-Q wave Myocardial Infarction.
