Tegretol CR, an international brand name, is an extended release preparation of carbamazepine. It is used for of seizure disorders and trigeminal neuralgia. It has also been used for treatment of resistant schizophrenia, alcohol withdrawal, restless leg syndrome and post-traumatic stress disorder.

Advice & Tips: It was supposed to help bring my mania down but it takes away the drive to live completely. All I want to do is sleep and it has affected my day to day functioning. If you battle with a drive to live I would discuss this with your doctor before starting this treatment.
