Generic name: Belimumab

Benlysta®, a brand name for belimumab, is a medication used to treat systemic lupus erythematosus. It works by decreasing the activity of a certain type of cell in the immune system so the body’s overall autoimmune response is lowered. It is administered through an intravenous (IV) infusion.
