What is natural killer cell deficiency syndrome?

Natural killer (NK) cell deficiency syndromes are rare disorders in which either the number, function, or both of NK cells is abnormal, in the absence of any other condition known to affect NK cells. It is characterized by severe, recurrent, or atypical herpes infections.
