What is common cold?

The common cold is a common viral infection of the nose and throat. It may also be known as acute nasopharyngitis or viral rhinopharyngitis. Symptoms may last one to two weeks and may include sore throat, runny nose, nasal congestion, sneezing and coughing.

Reports may be affected by other conditions and/or medication side effects. We ask about general symptoms (anxious mood, depressed mood, fatigue, pain, and stress) regardless of condition.
