  • Side effects
  • Adherence

  • Burden
    Very hard to take
Dosage: Daily
Advice & Tips: This is a pump that is placed into your stomach with a catheter attached that is inserted directly into your spinal column. I was not an appropriate candidate for this procedure but at the time, did not have enough experience or information to know that. It was only when I contacted an expert in M.S. in San Diego (Dr. Corey-Bloom), and she told me that the only effect this pump had was to line the pocket of a greedy physician (her words) that I demanded the pump be removed. However, the pump CAN BE beneficial for someone whose quality of life is unmanable due to spasticity and oral baclofen treatment is unsuccessful. It is also beneficial for someone experiencing intractable pain needing pain management that cannot be done orally.
Cost: < $25 monthly
Side effects: I am thin and the pump stuck out of my stomach like a hockey puck
