What is optic nerve meningioma?

Meningiomas are tumors of the meninges, the surface coverings of the central nervous system (brain and spinal). Meningiomas are usually non cancerous (benign). An optic nerve meningioma is a tumor that grows around or on the optic nerve, and may cause vision problems.
