Food protein induced enterocolitis syndrome (FPIES) is a type of allergic reaction within the gastrointestinal tract. Certain triggers may be related to milk or soy products, but any food can cause an allergic reaction. Reactions usually occurs a couple of hours after ingestion of allergen.
