What is chronic cutaneous lupus erythematosus?

Chronic cutaneous lupus erythematosus is a type of lupus affecting the skin. Cutaneous lupus most often affects women ages 20-50 and is often induced by sunlight. Treatment varies depending on the type of lesion but may involve sun protection, steroid creams, or systemic medications.
