Facet joints are small joints at each segment of the spine that provide stability and help guide motion that become painful due to arthritis of the spine, injury or stress. Injections with a steroid medication are intended to anesthetize the facet joints and block the pain.
Advice & Tips:
I had absolutely NO relief whatsoever from those damn shots! Sorry to be blunt, but there's no other way to be when it comes to that. I had the shots and then later that night I swelled up like the GoodYear Blimp. The tops of my feet were huge, my ankles were huge, I couldn't even more my feet. My blood sugar spiked up to 190. If it's even possible, my pain levels even increased! My advice? Don't get the shots. But then everyone is different anyway.
