Cerebral bypass surgery (STA-MCA bypass or Brain Revascularization) involves use of a branch of a scalp artery (STA) for direct connection to a branch of the brain artery (MCA) on the outer surface of the brain and is used to blood to areas of the brain where oxygen-rich blood flow is restricted.
