What is Saline breast expander implant?

Category: Surgeries

After the mastectomy the skin or tissue around the breast may not allow for immediate placement of an implant. The first stage is to insert a tissue expander which holds only a small amount of fluid. Once post-op healing is complete more saline is added until the implant reaches the desirable size.
