Advice & Tips: A tip from my parents, known as 'The French Trick'. Insert according to the instructions (please read, especially the need to wet them and remove packaging). This in its self is a bit of a trick. Make sure it goes as far in as you dare to reach - yes, disgusting, but oh boy... Now wait at least 15 mins. I tend to insert first thing in the morning, wash up, have breakfast, and by then it seems to do its magic. Stay within reach of the loo until something happens even if it's not quite the deluge you hoped for. I found this absolutely essential after my mini-cranioctomy as I was strictly warned NOT to 'strain at stool'. Wot, with that much codeine in my system? I had a coal bunker, not a colon, despite the promise of Lactulose Solution and 4 litres of water per day. After 2 bouts of 'six day poo' (one taking 5 hours to clear in the loo), I've just abandoned codeine and will stick to Paracetamol and Ibuprofen unless I have to have surgery again.
Cost: < $25 monthly
