What is nocardiosis?

Nocardiosis is an infection caused by the actinomycete Nocardia species that usually affects immunocompromised patients. It may present as a localized infection of the lung (pulmonary narcoidiosis) or skin (cutaneous narcoidiosis), or involve the whole body (disseminated nocardiosis).
