What is mandibular torus?

Mandibular Torus describes the condition in which bony growths occur in the mandible, which is the lower jaw, particularly on the surface nearest to the tongue. These are usually asymptomatic and will not be treated unless very large, when the risk of ulcerations and infection is high.
