What is lymphangioleiomyomatosis?

Lymphangioleiomyomatosis (LAM) is a rare lung disease that affects almost exclusively women. It is characterized by an unusual type of muscle cell that invades the tissue of the lungs, including the airways, and blood and lymph vessels.
