Chronic pneumonitis of infancy is a type of interstitial lung disease that occur may during infancy. Interstitial lung disease is characterized as inflammation or scarring of the lungs. The inflammation and scarring make it hard to get enough oxygen. The scarring is called pulmonary fibrosis.
