What is collagenous sprue?

Collagenous sprue is a condition in which the patient can not properly absorb nutrients. It is characterized by persistent nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. Physiological changes in the gut occur over time. Removal of gluten in the diet is generally not beneficial.
