What is proximal femoral focal deficiency?

Proximal femoral focal deficiency (PFFD) is a congenital deformity of the hip and femur. There are varying levels of severity and it can occur on one or both legs. Treatment varies based on severity but can include limb lengthening or different types of surgery and prostheses.
