What is antithrombin III deficiency?

Antithrombin III deficiency is a clotting disorder. Type I is a simple deficiency of the enzyme, and both antigen and activity levels are similarly low. Type II results in reduced enzyme activity. It may be a congenital (present at birth) disorder or an acquired condition.
