Urea cycle disorder is a genetic disorder characterized by a deficiency in enzymes responsible for removing ammonia from the blood stream including carbamoyl phosphate synthase, ornithine transcarbamylase, argininosuccinate synthetase, argininosuccinate lyase and arginase.
