Spinal Muscular Atrophy Type 1 is an inherited (genetic) condition that affects the nerve cells (motor neurons) in your spinal cord. Onset is evident from birth to the first few months. Symptoms include floppy limbs and trunk, and difficulty feeding and breathing.
