What is brief resolved unexplained event?
A brief resolved unexplained event (BRUE) is an episode where an infant less than one turns blue, stops breathing, becomes unresponsive, or has a change in muscle tone. The event occurs suddenly and lasts about 30-60 seconds. An older term for this episode was apparent life-threatening event (ALTE).
