What is leprosy?
Leprosy, or Hansen's Disease, is a chronic infection caused by a bacteria known as, mycobacterium leprae. It is a disease that can lead to severe, disfiguring skin sores or lesions and nerve damage outside of the brain, as well as in the spine, arms and/or legs.
