What is Lemierre syndrome?
Lemierre's Syndrome is a disease typically caused by a bacteria called, fusobacterium necrophorum. It primarily affects young, healthy adults. The infection usually begins with a sore throat, followed by fever, sepsis, thrombosis, and abscesses that cause the infection to spread through the body.
