What is frontal fibrosing alopecia?

Frontal fibrosing alopecia is a rare condition in which hair loss follows a distinctive pattern characterized by progressive recession of the frontal hairline, with or without progressive loss of eyebrows. Frontal fibrosing alopecia is considered to be a variant of lichen planopilaris.
