- These are bioidentical hormones which are safer and more effective than synthetics. They come in a pump bottle and I use 2 pumps of each cream every day (or almost every day). I get these 2 medications from a compounding pharmacy and they do require a prescription. I'm on Medicare (on disability for FM) and from what I can discern they will not pay for these although I have never actually submitted a claim.
