Low levels of oxygen in the blood may be the result of sleep apnea, which is transient periods of cessation of breathing during sleep. Read more...
Patients with ALS and other conditions may experience poor sleep quality due to respiratory weakness. "I was getting up from sleeping with headaches. Tested for sleep apnea which was negative. Test did show that my oxygen saturation dropped to 85% while sleeping.
I was put on oxygen 2 L at night only.
This improved my condition markedly."
