Advice & Tips: I would like to stay on Avonex, but with the liver acting up, I will stop it for now. I want to go back on it or go to an oral that doesn't effect the liver.

Advice & Tips: Pre-med with the Tylenol,Advil,Aleve,starting 8 -12 hrs prior,then continue to follow as needed . Don't be a hero thingss really do bother me too,so I take something to fix it or at least try. That's the previous faculty who use to teach dental student coming out in me ,sorry 'bout that!

Advice & Tips: Side effects can be bad at the beginning and it's difficult to know whether the Avonex will even work. STICK WITH IT!! I haven't had any progression in 2 years!!!

Advice & Tips: Best advice, don't make appointments for the following day~and prepare with meals, medications, and anything that may require driving or being away from the comfort and security of your home/bed and by all means, let someone know about your schedule or changes so that they are aware to either not call or be prepared to take you to the hospital/clinic. I have not had this latter experience, but must be prepared anyway.

Advice & Tips: My husband does the injecting. It is difficult for him to do, and it is difficult to allow someone to do this. He has gotten much better over the 3 years...but he isn't as good as the nurse. Taking advil and/or aleve takes all of the side effects out of the question. I take the advil before or at the time of the shot. I want about three hours and take the aleve just as I go to bed. I sleep through most side effects!
