A dextromethorphan-quinidine combination was studied for its effect on inappropriate laughing and crying episodes experienced by some patients with brain injury or brain degeneration due to certain diseases. The incongruous laughing and crying episodes are due to pseudobulbar affect.

Advice & Tips: Nuedexta is a simple drug that is composed of two common inexpensive drugs. Rather than paying for the name brand, I have it prepared at a compounding pharmacy here in Canada. "Nuedexta" itself is not sold here.
