A nightshade-free diet is thought to help relieve arthritis pain and inflammation. The nightshade family includes the Datura or Jimson weed, mandrake, deadly nightshade or belladonna, capsicum (paprika, chili pepper), potato, tobacco, tomato, eggplant and petunia.

Take the time to understand how what night shades are. Also my diet was a tad more intensive I found it in a newsletter on the UKLUPUS site http://www.thelupussite.com/bn11.html I started by eliminating or moderating one thing on the list then allowing it back into my diet to see how it effected me. My biggest surprise was mushrooms, ouch! Nightshades build up after a few but it is easy to have 3 in one meal. Now it's a game of find that item on the menu and educate your waiter. It's fun, much more enjoyable then waking up as the TINMAN.
