Generic name: Ankle Foot Orthosis (AFO)

2 patient evaluations for ToeOFF AFO

Feb 5, 2011 (Started Apr 23, 2009)

  • Effectiveness
Slight (for I scissor when I walk; Hip and Knee pain)
  • Side effects
    None
  • Adherence
    Never taken as prescribed
  • Burden
    Somewhat hard to take
Dosage: 2 hr Daily
Advice & Tips: I have not worn these for quite a while now. My lifestyle is such that I spend a great deal of my day sitting, or when I walk in the house, it involves going up and down stairs, so they are not very practical for me at home. When I go out, I am just too lazy to put them on...besides when I wear both of them, I feel like the Tin Man. Not a very good patient!
Cost: $25-49 monthly

Advice & Tips: Really dislike wearing them. A real pain in the patootie for me. I pretty much don't use them at all right now. Probably should, but seem to be more trouble than they are helpful.

Advice & Tips: The ToeOff brace is NOT perfected. Two braces have snapped on me in only 6 months. If this wasn't a problem the technology behind the brace, carbon fiber energy release, is really good.
