Melatonin appears to be the primary sleep-regulating hormone of the body. It has been used by individuals suffering from insomnia, particularly when adjusting to shift-work cycles or jet lag. In the US Melatonin is available over-the-counter, however, it may require a prescription in some countries.

Advice & Tips: My husband picked this up at the grocery store for me & he could only find it in gummy pills. I would prefer to take a pill but these gummy things do taste delicious. I take the melatonin to combat the REM Sleep Behavior D/O & it doesn't seem to lessen that problem (so far) but I think I am sleeping better. I will continue with the Melatonin in hopes it will help, and I haven't increased the dose as my doctor told me I can, so I can always try an added pill.
