"Attitude" refers to a particular type of coping mechanism to do with resilience, optimism, and positivity. Whilst there is little to support the notion that one's attitude to illness can affect the disease itself, quality of life for the patient and those around them are almost certainly affected.

Advice & Tips: Its hard to have a positive attitude when your alone all day and you spouse works. Somedays, more than others I'm getting to where I would rather the pain end than endure this MS.
