What is Occipital nerve decompression?

Category: Surgeries

The occipital nerves run from the top of the spinal cord, at the nape of the neck, up through the scalp. If this nerve is compressed it can cause intense headache pain. One procedure to treat the pain is to remove any impinging muscles or scar tissue that may be compressing the occipital nerve.
