A pilonidal cyst (or pilonidal abscess, pilonidal sinus, sacrococcygeal fistula) is a collection of skin, hair, and fluid near or on the natal cleft of the buttocks. A cystectomy is performed to remove this growth.
(for removal of cyst on neck and back area)
Somewhat hard to take
Advice & Tips:
Communicate with the doctor very thoroughly and ask for his/her to repeat what you tell him/her to ensure understanding.
It seems my doctor did not fully remove the cyst tissue. The cyst is now larger than before the procedure.
If I remember, I'll report back after my post-operative visit on June 24.
