What is Prostatectomy?

Category: Surgeries

A prostatectomy is the surgical removal of all or part of the prostate gland. Abnormalities of the prostate, such as a tumour, or if the gland itself becomes enlarged for any reason, can restrict the normal flow of urine along the urethra.

May 4, 2010 (Started May 04, 2010)

  • Effectiveness
    Major (for prostate cancer)
  • Side effects
  • Adherence
    Never taken as prescribed
  • Burden
Not at all hard to take
Dosage: One time
Advice & Tips: I was 52 when the surgery was done. Because I was young and healthy, surgery was the best option. I have recovered full sexual capability and experience extremely minor drizzling of urine occasionally after urination.
