Copper is involved in the maintenance of bone, collagen, and nerve tissue. Copper is a cofactor in a number of antioxidant enzymes, including superoxide dismutase (SOD). It is required for the synthesis and function of hemoglobin and stimulates the intestinal absorption of iron.
