Hydrocodone is an opiate pain medication used in the relief of moderate to severe pain. Acetaminophen (also known as APAP and paracetamol) is typically used for management of mild to moderate pain; when in combination, it increases the effect of hydrocodone.
Advice & Tips:
I have been taking hydrocodone under many names over the years. Some of the names were Vicodin, Lortab, and Norco. They all seemed to work the same which was not that good.
I just started taking the 10/325 yesterday so I will have to see how well a higher dosage pill helps me. I really hope I see an improvement in my pain levels with this new dose.
My dosages have been up and down as my PCP was really mad at me for quitting Lyrica. I was hallucinating and could fall asleep right in the middle of a sentence while I was talking. I totaled 2 cars and was lucky that I didn't kill some innocent victim! Both accidents happened while I was hallucinating. It was plain awful taking the Lyrica but my PCP didn't understand and cut my hydrocodone down to the bare bones. I just went 3 years without a dosage increase as she had told me to never ask again but I couldn't help finally breaking down and asking. I asked for 2 x 7.5 per day and she said, "No" but then the very next month she wrote it for the same amount that I had asked for by writing me 45 x 10mg per month. That is still 15 mg a day. Bless her heart for helping me out!!! I hate it when I don't have a life because of pain...
