Levodopa is a dopamine precursor used to treat the movement disorder symptoms of Parkinson's disease. Carbidopa is often included with levodopa-containing drugs in order to boost its efficacy by slowing down the metabolism of dopamine.

Advice & Tips: This summer I had to lower my total intake of carbidopa / levodopa as I began to experience dyskinesia in the evenings.  If I keep my daily levodopa dose at or below 1200 mgs, I seldom experience any dyskinesia.

Advice & Tips: I take the regular Sinemet pill as a 'back-up' to my extended release Sinemet when I go to the gym, paint or do something during which time I hope to lesson my tremors - it does seem to help.
