Advice & Tips: I was on wellbutrn xl 300mg and seroquel 200mg for maybe 2 years, seemed to work ok. I would still have my down times and some anger issues. Then last October (2009) I started falling apart big time. All I know is that after taking Zoloft and Depokote I started feeling better, but still very depressed and no short term memory. Then in Feb. of this year I started falling apart again. So now I'm on Effexon XR 75 2 times a day.

  • Adherence

Advice & Tips: The longer I am on this medication, it seems that more of my sex drive is coming back. When I was on this before the same thing happened. I am wondering how much is due to the ms vs. the zoloft. I also worry about weight gain associated with this med, but most anti-depressants have that side effect. The loss of sex drive was much worse (NO sex drive what-so-ever) when I tried lexapro.
Cost: < $25 monthly
Side effects: decreased sex drive (libido), weight gain

Advice & Tips: I started Zoloft originally in January 23, 2007, however since it worked so well, I went off of it in March 2009. This was the biggest mistake of my life. My anxiety went from being almost gone to worse than i was actually diagnosed. As a result I ended up in the hospital's psych ward, and eventually a year later a doctor finally prescribed me zoloft again, and i began taking it again. I've had no complaints since besides minor insomnia.

Advice & Tips: I did find that I was less "suicidal" taking this medication but these feelings were still present and had to call for help on a few occasions. It did help my OCD in the slightest form. It did not however help my mood

Advice & Tips: I was originally prescribed Prozac which I felt did wonders for me. I had excessive energy, lost a lot of weight but was jittery so my doctor (and eventually consultant) prescribed Escitalopram, eventually Sertraline. I find that I still have OCD and this has not decreased in any shape or form. My depression seems to be under control at the moment but I have attempted suicide twice over the last month.

Advice & Tips: I tapered down over 6 or 8 weeks to finally stop taking this, and significantly altered my life at the same time - journalling, listening to relaxation tapes, cutting out caffeine, going to acupuncture once a week, gentle exercise and time in the garden, going to bed early.
