Advice & Tips: Regular maintenance. I took mine to the local Bike shop and he rebuilt the brakes for less than $40. Huge difference.

Advice & Tips: If it's important to your ability to walk, by all means, use it! I don't use it as much as I should, though I use it more than I used to. The sense of "stigma" is disappearing.
