Escitalopram is an antidepressant in a group of drugs called selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs). It is primarily used to treat anxiety and major depressive disorder. It may also be used for mild agitation in patients with dementia.

Advice & Tips: I have been more depressed & upset lately due to added health issues, so I don't feel that the Lexapro helps me a lot when I am really depressed; so I don't know if it is me or the drug. I really don't think any drug can help you all the time.
