Advice & Tips: When diagnosed, I started off with Requip 2 mg per day and from there it was taken up to 16 mg per day. It really did help for the tremors, but for the last 3 weeks appoximately my legs, ankles and feet started swelling. At first I did not realize that the Requip had anything to do with it, but as it became worse (the edema), I did more and more research and found this link: Mombu the Medicine Forum > Medicine > Characteristics of Dopamine Agonist Induced Peripheral Edema (Swelling of the Legs) (calcium parkinson dopamine) . I discussed it with my neurologist and she immediately stopped the Requip XL and put me on Carbilev. The swelling had already started going down (one day).
