Dosage: 500 mg Twice daily
Advice & Tips: I find Keppra makes me feel like I've had a beer or two at lunchtime on an empty stomach. Not a drunk feeling, but that roughly dulled sleepy feeling, with a slight unsteadiness that catches you on uneven ground. This does wear off after a few weeks, but comes back if you up the dose. However, you do keep a sharp and alert mind and unlike my Phenytoin experiences, you don't make rash or silky decisions or feel any Mild Cognitve Impairment. For that, I give Keppra my vote.

Advice & Tips: As my G4 GBM has 'woken up' after debulking surgery, it's tickled the brain and caused a few seizures, so we've upped the dose to 750mg twice daily, which has increased the sensation of sleepiness and mild nausea - but really nothing to complain about. And IIRC, these symptoms do reduce after a week or two. Not feeling any of the symptoms some people get (no mood changes, anger or agressiveness problems).

Advice & Tips: I've got on so much better than with Phenytoin. Very mild dizziness and faintest hint of what may be a sort of nausea, neither of which are really worth mentioning, but worth it for being completely seizure free.

Advice & Tips: Lowers sex drive majorly but will kick your seizures butt,haven't had an episode in a long time.Will also make you tired but you can deal.

Advice & Tips: If you own an iPhone set your alarm for when you take your medication (s) and always carry a dose with you in a pill box when you are out and about so you don't miss a dose. Also, download an app on your iPhone called Mango Health that assists with this very purpose. It is free.

Advice & Tips: Watch for suicidal thoughts, mood swings, and anger.  It makes me feel horrendous. I've wanted to end my own life. I have zero energy and feel even more depressed. I hate this medication.

Advice & Tips: Not really much to tell. This drug works well with my other meds, I haven't had any side effects and so far so good. The pill is a little big. Here is a trick for you when you take your meds. Don't tilt your head back. After you take that LARGE sip of water, put your chin down towards your chest. It works very well once you get the hang of it!
