Advice & Tips: This is unusual, obviously, but my body ended up hoarding synthroid in an as-of-yet unknown way, causing me to overproduce/under-siphon cerebro-spinal fluid, giving me a condition that mimicked a moderate brain tumor (condition is called Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension; i had it to such severity that I incurred brain damage which persists and was almost in a coma). IF YOU HAVE conditions such as high pressure headaches (headaches that get worse when you lie down), cognitive changes (for me: strategy, memory) weird graying of your vision, or loss of your periphereal sight while taking synthroid, please go to an opthalmologist (not an optometrist) just to check if your optic discs are swollen. They might not be! IIH as it is has only been the side-effect of synthroid in veeeery rare cases (and it's a veeery rare syndrome to start with), but honestly it's better safe than sorry. Blindness and coma are not fun, and semi-permanent brain damage isn't either to be honest. I switched to Cytomel, and my IIH disappeared slowly following the half-life cycle of Synthroid.

Advice & Tips: Take daily,on an empty stomach at least an hour before eating (majorly important)!Be sure to get blood work done yearly,asking for a full panel view this is to get your TSH numbers. I thiught PG was getting this done. Before I knew it my TSH was 21.1 and they ideallt want your to be in 2.5 range with a fluation up to 4 or down to 1 so you can see mine was high. Did it affect me yes it did. My ankles began to swell (first sign) then, my weight changed, my hair began to fall out and terribly dry skin. There were sevreral things going on in my life at the time. Large impact takes twelve wks or more to correct. don't let this happen to you get routine blood work done, yearly.

Advice & Tips: I've only been taking it for 7 days and maybe it's too soon for an evaluation on everything but I have been depressed lately with a complete loss of appetite. However I cannot attribute these symptoms to this drug with certainty because [sometimes] I feel this way after a seizure too. I have been feeling depressed lately though and scared. I"m worried. I feel uneasy. It's hard to explain. I will reevaluate this drug again at the end of month.
