Advice & Tips: I began taking Lyrica for my fibromyalgia but I have to tell you it has also virtually taken away my migraines and restless leg syndrome. Really happy about that. I get a lot of samples from my doctor as my co-pay for this medication is $40 and I can't usually afford that. Because of this, I take lower than the prescribed dose so I can make the samples last longer. My prescribed dosage is 300 mg a day, but I only take anywhere from 100 to 200 mg daily.
Cost: $25-49 monthly
Side effects: dizziness

Advice & Tips: I have learned to write alot of things down immediately because lyrica affects your memory and ability to think clearly throughout the day. However, the side effects are BETTER than the extreme pain and fatigue that wreaks my body without Lyrica. I have made it a point to let everyone know about my condition/disease and it has helped my family to understand and assist me with daily activities such as important dates to remember. I highly recommend that anyone taking lyrica DO NOT go cold turkey, it has the effect of brain swelling and seizures if you go cold turkey. DEFINITELY decrease dose gradually by 2 week intervals to give your body time to clear it out.

Advice & Tips: Took it in the past for about a year. Stopped it then due to problems getting it covered by insurance. It was not worth me taking it as in the results and problems I had getting it filled at the pharmacy. I tried it again and had no relief and decided with my doctor to go on oxycontin. I believe it didnt help because I have a bulging disc for 4 years and was misdiagnosed all those times. It is not reccomended to take Lyrica for a bulging disc that could have been easily taken care of if it was found in the beginning. Because of my misdiagnosis my pain turned into all of these conditions I now have.
