Advice & Tips: I gained 40 pounds in 4 months on this drug. I was at a stable weight for 2 1/2 years and then I tried Cymbalta because I had to do something about my extreme pain and issues with fibromyalgia. I read what everyone else wrote on the web and I was worried but it sounded better than Lyrica or Effexor's side effects so I gave it a shot. I gotta say for a while I thought it was giving me about 30% improvement but after about 6 months on it, the weight gain started and it hasn't stopped since! I also felt kind of depressed on the stuff. I know what real depression feels like and again I hadn't been depressed for a few years but this drug really seemed to encourage some bad thoughts. I stopped taking it a month ago and I feel positive again. Still in daily pain, unable to work or see friends but not crying all the time like before. So good by my standards. HUh. I did have the brain zaps and all that when coming off of it but you gets those when you stop any anti-depress. I think I got lucky and slept through most of the bad days. So, fingers crossed that all this weight will come off soon but I wouldn't bet on it.

Advice & Tips: Cymbalta really helped a lot with the burning sensation in my legs and feet. Since I am trying to lose some weight, I thought that stopping the cymbalta would possibly help in the weight loss. It really did help a lot though.

Advice & Tips: This drug was administered to me inpatient at the local mental hospital which lies in a local hospital. I can't really tell if I actually got worse. I could not cry even though I was severely depressed. I could not tell anyone what was going through in my head so my husband watched me become a self destructive shell even though I knew that my depression was very deep. I'm not sure when I finally decided that suicide could be a good idea.
