Advice & Tips: If you are hesitant to take any antidepressant because of weight gain or sexual desire issues, try it first.  If it does cause that, you can always be switched to another antidepressant.  There are many, many of these different formulae available to you and your doctor and it might take a while to find the one that is right for you.  Also, internal med MDs and GPs often don't give high enough dosages to be clinically significant (studies show), so if your depression and pain aren't improving, consider a one-time or a short course of visits to a psychiatrist, because they are experts in prescriptions for mental health issues.

Advice & Tips: I didn't think Cymbalta helped my pain, so I weaned off of it.  I couldn't believe how much worse my pain was without Cymbalta, so I went back to taking it daily.  I am not sure that it's the best treatment for my depression though!

Advice & Tips: For depression (which occured years before FMS or CFS), it took me several different depression meds to find out one that helped or didn't cause undesirably side effects. Cymbalta works for me. Don't give up if the firstbtwo or three don't work.
